Educators are the heart and soul of the classroom. The Martin Institute Conference is an annual outstanding professional development experience for educators from around the world.

The goal of #MICON15 is to not only create dialogue, engagement, and practical inspiration among educators but also to delve deeply into the heart and soul of teaching. What is excellence in teaching for understanding? What does that look like in high-quality classrooms? How do we advance student learning? How can we apply these ideas in our own classrooms?

    Dave Burgess

    Dave Burgess is the New York Times best-selling author of Teach Like a PIRATE and co-author of P is for PIRATE: Inspirational ABC’s for Educators. He received national recognition as recipient of the 2014 BAMMY Award for Secondary School Teacher of the Year presented by the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences.

David Porter's songs have been involved in more than 300 million units sells worldwide.     Porter founded the Consortium MMT in 2012, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a viable music industry in Memphis for the future.
