The goal of the conference is to not only create inspiration, dialogue, and engagement among educators but to delve deeply into teaching excellence and what that looks like in high-quality classrooms. The wide variety of attendees from public, private, and charter schools is a source of pride and impact for the institute as we seek to perforate barriers and mindsets about how we interact as professionals.
The conference sessions are interactive learning sessions where participants have to question, grapple, reflect, discuss, explore, and create around the topic being presented. Our model is active learning not passive “sit and get” listening.
Attendees choose from over 30 workshop sessions each day in learning blocks of 1 ½ hours long. Session topics typically include Common Core integration, literacy instruction, assessments, math instruction, differentiation, working with urban populations, fostering higher level thinking for all ages, customized learning, critical and creative thinking, teaching for understanding and developing excellence and grit in students.
